With production starting in 2013, the 5-axle Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 All-Terrain boosts a strong load chart and the VarioBallast (counterweight) enables the crane to deliver maximum load capacities within a wide radius. Equipped with the VarioBase system making the LTM 1250-5.1 safe and efficient while lifting heavy loads in confined spaces.

Parts of the telescopic boom extension and folding jib extension can also be used for strong jib TS and fixed jib TNZF and operators only need the adapter, reducer section, and headpiece to assemble.

The LTM 1250-5.1 can be operated at two ballast counterweight radii 5.58 m or 4.78 m and adjust quickly and easily. The ballast radius is reduced by 800 mm using standard mechanically adjusted ballasting cylinders enabling the crane to work in constricted conditions.

The upper crane superstructure is powered by a mechanical shaft from the lower carrier engine and gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the crane substructure via two gears through the center of the slewing ring. 

The single-engine concept reduces the overall weight of the crane and requires less maintenance versus having two engines powering the lower carrier and upper crane superstructure.
