Grove TM500E-2 Specifications
The 45 UST ton (40 metric ton) lifting capacity Grove TM500E-2 is a telescopic boom truck crane that comes with a 29 ft – 95 ft (8.8 m - 29 m) four-section full power telescopic boom or the more popular 32 ft -102 ft (9.8 - 31 m) boom. An optional 26 ft – 45 ft (7.9 m – 13.7 m) offsettable telescopic swing-away extension is available for a maximum tip height of 154' (46.9 m).
Includes Dual-Axis electronic joystick controllers, rear air suspension with shock absorbers, and two engines to reduce fuel usage and boost rated highway speeds up to 65 mph. (103 KM/per hour).
While no currently longer in production, the TM500E-2 is one of the last two engine truck cranes ever produced. This model boosts an exceptionally strong load chart for its class and is still fully supported by a global network of Manitowoc Group Authorized Grove Crane Distributors.
Dual-Engine System
- Carrier (Lower) Engine: Powered by a 300 hp Cummins ISC diesel engine paired with a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission to manage road transit.
- Superstructure (Upper) Engine: Driven by an independent, fuel-efficient 110 hp 4-cylinder Cummins QSB 3.3L diesel engine dedicated strictly to operating the hydraulic crane functions.
Driver & Operator Comfort
Suspension: Features a front spring suspension combined with a rear air-ride suspension and shock absorbers to minimize bumpy travel across highways and jobsites.
Cab Features: Equipped with dual-axis electronic joystick controllers, an ergonomic automotive-style dashboard layout, tilt steering, and full factory air conditioning and heating in both the lower and upper cabs.
Safety Technology: Includes a full PAT/Hirschmann Load Moment Indicator (LMI) and an Anti-Two-Block (A2B) system to prevent operational overloading.
