Terex HC 285 Specifications
The 285-ton USt (258 metric ton) lifting capacity Terex HC 285 (American Crane Corporation) lattice boom crawler crane comes fully equipped with 80' - 300' (24.4 - 91.5 m) of main lattice boom (92HI tubular chord boom and offset boom tip) and 100' (30.5 m) of lattice jib extensions (16HL fixed jib) for a total maximum system length of 378' (115 m) and a 280' (85.3 m) maximum hook radius.
For transport of the full crane system, 10.5' (3.2 m) x 12' (3.6 m) (W X H) crane dimensions, tracks, crane components, max. boom/jib plus the full 263, 000 lbs (120 mt) counterweight comprises approximately sixteen loads.
This model crane features power Up/Down, free fall on main and auxiliary drums optional, shockless stop system gradually retards operating speed when the crane approaches lifting load or boom limits, two-speed travel, and a hydraulically removable counterweight system.
Standard power is a Cummins QSL9 350 HP (261 kW) diesel engine.
While this model is discontinued from production it is still available via Terex distributors and for sale on the used cranes market with full parts support.
The final Terex HC series of crawler cranes produced featured lifting capacities of 80 USt (72 mt) to 285 USt (258 mt) and were designed for ease of transport and quick rigging and assembly.
