The arrival of a retired Army M-60A1 “Patton” tank has added another piece of military history to the Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park in Clinton, OH.
Escorted by motorcycles of Rolling Thunder and Ohio Patriot Guard Riders, the tank completed its move from Defiance by trailer and was placed near the park’s memorial wall in October. VFW Post 3360 did not have a place to put the tank, hence the move to the park.
A&M Trucking and Trailer Repair of Greenwich and All Erection Crane Rental of Cleveland each donated their services, amounting to $20,000, along with Shippers Highway Express of Cleveland to make the move a reality. Without donations the move could not have taken place, stated Ken Noon of the OVMP.
He noted members of the Blackhorse Battalion will restore the tank which last saw service in the Persian Gulf War.
