With lifting capacities of 80+ tons, Boom Truck Cranes are among the most important equipment for every large construction project. With the help of a jib arm, some cranes can reach working heights of about 200 feet—more than enough for large commercial buildings. What makes them a great choice is their low setup and transit time. Keep in mind that these products have certain requirements for the terrain on which they operate.

When choosing a used boom truck crane that will fit your business’s needs, the main things you need to check are:

  • Chassis, transmission, the boom itself - When inspecting the condition of the truck, you need to check whether there is  rust on the chassis and whether the transmission changes gears without problems. Also, examine the boom – The  hydraulics, controls and  the jib need to work properly. Ask the owner if they have documents for any recent inspections by the D.O.T. or OSHA.
  • Purpose - Some trucks can serve  multiple purposes. For example, if you do a lot of electrical work, check if a bucket can be mounted.
  • Mileage - The more the boom truck has been used, the higher chance there is for upcoming costly repairs. Clutch, timing belt or chains, transmission - These are all things that can add to the final cost of the truck if they need to be replaced.

Whether you want to rent a crane for an upcoming project or buy one for your company, look no further. At Crane Market, you will find a variety of boom trucks from major manufacturers such as International, Freightliner, Terex, Manitex, and others. Some of the cranes below are of a previous generation; which makes them a budget-friendly option, while others are just a few years old—less expensive, but just as reliable as new ones.

Crane Specifications, Load Charts, and Crane Manuals are for *Reference Only* and are not to be used by the crane operator to operate any type of crane, telehandler, lift truck or aerial access device. To obtain OEM Crane Service, Crane Parts or Crane Maintenance Manuals, contact the crane and or lifting manufacturer directly.
