Manitex International acquired Pioneer Cranes originally based in Hutchison, Kansas in 2001. Pioneer Engineering manufactured boom truck cranes known for the patented "X" style outrigger design featuring a 500-degree rotation with no compromise over the front swing.
This innovative technology has carried over to a segment of current Manitex crane models that still feature the "X" style outrigger configuration.
The Pioneer Crane product line included the 1000 Series, 2000 Series, and the 4000 Series. While these models are no longer in production many Pioneer Cranes are still in production and supported by a global network of Manitex Crane distributors.
