Grove TMS900E Specifications Grove TMS900E Specifications Grove TMS900E Specifications

Discontinued in 2008 the 90 ton (80 m) capacity Grove TMS900E hydraulic truck crane is equipped with a main telescopic boom of 37 - 142 ft (11.2 - 43.2 m) with an Optional 33 - 56 ft (10 - 17 m) hydraulically offsettable bifold swing away, plus optional lattice insert extensions for a 237 ft (72.2 m) maximum tip height.  Standard features included the Grove MEGAFORM boom, a hydraulically tiltable cab up to 15°, and up to 31, 500 lbs hydraulically installed/removed counterweight.  The crane is powered by a Cummins 6 cylinder, turbo-charged aftercooled diesel engine for a maximum travel speed of 65 mph (104 kph).

The Grove TMS9000E replaced the TMS900E and offers a 23 percent increase in overall capacities. Additional upgrades include improvements to the chassis and superstructure cabs, boom support and counterweight support designs and accessibility for service and maintenance.

In 2017, Grove introduced the TMS9000E-2 which is approximately 363 kg (800 lbs) lighter than its predecessor, the TMS9000E. Though the TMS9000-2 is lighter, it’s boom length and capacity have increased. The crane features a new, 51.6 m (169.3 ft), six-section MEGAFORM boom that utilizes Grove’s Twin-Lock pinning system. The improved reach enables crane operators to complete a wider variety of applications with the crane, but from a compact chassis [width: 2.6 m (8.5 ft); length: 13.4 m (43.8 ft)]. The crane offers manual or hydraulic swing-away jibs, along with an additional insert, to provide further reach options.

And with this increased reach comes increased capacity across all load charts. The crane’s 100 t (115 USt) capacity makes it the strongest four-axle truck crane on the market with the best load charts in its class. Both the boom and chassis are stronger on the TMS9000-2 than previous cranes, so there is more capacity across all radii. On average, load charts with maximum counterweight have improved by approximately 5% over its predecessor.

The new model also shares the same counterweight system as the TMS9000E, so owners can interchange counterweights and wing weights from the previous-generation crane, giving them flexibility in configurations across an entire fleet.
