DESCRIPTION
31000— LATTICE BOOM CRAWLERS
As the largest capacity crawler ever designed and built by Manitowoc, the new 31000 employs an innovative self-supporting counterweight. This feature, called the Variable Position Counterweight system, minimizes the crane's footprint and ground preparation. Manitowoc Cranes began producing lattice boom crawler cranes at its facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, in 1925. Since then, it has led the industry in sales, innovation, performance and support. Manitowoc is committed to providing the most innovative, advanced and comprehensive range of lifting solutions with products that have long set the standard for excellence worldwide: Grove mobile telescoping cranes, Manitowoc lattice boom crawler cranes, Potain tower cranes, National Crane boom trucks and Shuttlelift industrial cranes. In addition to our outstanding product lines, Manitowoc offers outstanding support services through Manitowoc Crane Care.
31000 FEATURES
• Variable position counterweight, 8 m (28 ft) fully retracted to 29 m (95 ft) full extended
• Four trunnion-mounted crawlers
• Dual 447 kW (600 hp) Cummins engines
• EPIC controls with CAN-Bus technology
• Fast, efficient self-assembly and disassembly
• Meets global transportation requirements
VARIABLE POSITION COUNTERWEIGHT (VPC)
The Manitowoc 31000 features the only self-supporting counterweight system in the industry. By suspending the counterweights above the ground, site preparation is greatly reduced. As load increases on the hook, the VPC is automatically repositioned to maintain a balanced load moment.
CRANESTAR
CraneSTAR is an exclusive and innovative crane asset management system that helps improve your profitability and reduce costs by remotely monitoring critical crane data.
BENEFITS
Productivity—Revolutionary Variable Position Counterweight (VPC) (U.S. Patent 7,546,928) helps deliver class-leading lift capacities with less counterweight. The system works by automatically moving the counterweight into a maximized position for the given configuration and load case. No commands are necessary, so the operator is free to focus on the load and jobsite.
