In October, Wagenborg pulled two pipes underneath the ‘Twentekanaal’, using 14 mobile telescopic cranes. These transport pipes (supply and outlet), measuring 410 meters (1345 ft.) each, are part of a heating network for the town of Hengelo. The heating network heats houses and companies in a sustainable way.
The operations started in the early morning. The mobile AT cranes lifted the pipes up 5 meters (16 ft.) in order to pull the pipes through the hole underneath the canal at the proper exact angle. The pipes were pulled underneath the canal at a speed of 100 meters per hour.
Due to smooth cooperation and excellent communication, this special job was performed to the full satisfaction of all parties involved.
