Ajos was established in 1983 when A. Jespersen and Son began to deal with equipment rental for external customers. At that time, Ajos also had significant forging production of building parts.
In 1991, A. Jespersen and Son were acquired by Larsen and Nielsen and Ajos' equipment was integrated into Larsen and Nielsen's equipment department, but the department for tower cranes , semi-mobile cranes and hoists retained the Ajos name.
In 1993 Larsen and Nielsen were acquired by SN Holding, which in turn later sold the contracting business to CW Obel. The two trades had no influence on Ajos, as both SN Holding and CW Obel allowed Larsen and Nielsen to continue as an independent company with their own name, including Ajos was still the name of the crane and hoisting department.
In 1996, Monberg & Thorsen took over the contracting company Larsen and Nielsen and the company name Larsen and Nielsen ceased to exist. At the same time, all equipment, except cranes and hoists, was placed under the Monberg & Thorsen equipment department. The crane and hoisting department continued to be named Ajos.
In 2001 merged Monberg & Thorsen and Højgaard & Schultz to MT Hojgaard A/S . During the merger, equipment rental was divided into three individual and specialized companies: Dansk Maskinpark ( Sheds and pavillions ), MT Højgaard Materiel ( construction flow , construction machinery and scaffolding) and Ajos (cranes and hoists).
In 2005, all MT Højgaard's material activities were brought together under the name Ajos.
In 2008, Ajos was established as an independent limited company wholly owned by MT Højgaard a / s.
In 2009, Ajos expanded its fleet of tower cranes and semi-mobile cranes, thereby further consolidating the company's position in the crane area.
In 2012, Ajos divested the scaffolding department and expanded the lift area on the same occasion, so that Ajos was significantly strengthened within this area.
